MY STORY
My story is one of resilience, faith, and hope. As a career coach rooted in my faith, I have faced the ebbs and flows of life with a steadfast belief that every challenge is a steppingstone towards fulfilling the purpose that was designed for you. I’ve been blessed with a formidable career of leadership in New York encompassing many opportunities to bring change and help many discover purpose. As a former CEO of an award winning non-profit, a Borough Director for the NYC Dept of Education serving thousands of families and a CASAC (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) in the South Bronx for many years, my career has helped me to discover the ultimate purpose I was created for in helping others. However, please don't get me wrong. My life was not always clear as it sounds.
There was a time when the foundations of my world were shaken. I experienced four deaths and a loss of my career, all within a span of four years. This period of loss plunged me into a deep depression, isolating me from the world and pushing me to the brink of giving up on life itself. Depressed, and feeling useless, it was during this darkest hour that I experienced profound moments with God. A seemingly random invitation to a church I saw on a commercial at 3 am one night became a beacon of hope. Despite my skepticism and a long-standing belief that God was distant, I found myself drawn to this place of worship. It was there, through volunteering and eventually leading a career course, that I rediscovered my purpose and the hope that comes from knowing Christ.
Today, I stand as a testament to the transformative power of faith in overcoming life's greatest trials. My journey has taught me the importance of serving others, the value of self-reflection, and the significance of trusting God's timing. As a career coach, I integrate these lessons into my practice, guiding others through their professional journeys with empathy, wisdom, and a deep commitment to seeing them thrive.
Through my own lessons learned by guiding over a thousand interviews during my career, I have gathered all the golden nuggets of wisdom into one handbook so you can avoid all the mistakes I have witnessed. My mission with my new handbook, "NAIL THAT JOB", is to help others navigate their careers with hope, equip them with the tools they need for success, and inspire them to see the possibilities that faith in God can unlock.
Through my struggles, I've learned that hope is indeed real. It is the light that guides us through the darkest nights and leads us to the dawn of new beginnings. My story is one of a journey from despair to hope, a reminder that no matter how lost we may feel, there is always a path leading us back to where we are meant to be.
I have walked in your shoes.
